1. Introduction

Agate Business Consulting values your privacy. This policy explains how the Secure your Profile Chrome extension handles information.

2. Data Collection

The extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. It does not use analytics, advertising trackers, remote scripts, or external APIs.

3. Local Data Stored

The extension stores the following information locally in Chrome extension storage:

• Protection state, such as enabled/disabled and locked/unlocked.
• Password verification data stored as a salted PBKDF2-SHA-256 hash.
• Retrieval key verification data stored as a salted PBKDF2-SHA-256 hash.
• Temporary failed-attempt counters used for basic brute-force protection.

Plaintext passwords and plaintext retrieval keys are never stored.

4. Host Permission Use

When Full Navigation Lock is enabled, Chrome may ask for permission to access all sites. This permission is used only to redirect normal website navigation to the local unlock page while the extension is locked. Browsing content is not read, collected, or transmitted.

5. Data Sharing

No data is sent to Agate Business Consulting or third parties. All extension data remains on the local device unless the user separately backs up or syncs their Chrome profile using browser-level features.

6. Data Deletion

Uninstalling the extension or clearing extension storage removes locally stored settings and credential hashes.

7. Security Disclaimer

This extension provides a browser-level soft lock. It is not a replacement for operating system login, full-disk encryption, or enterprise-managed Chrome policies.
