This Privacy Policy explains how Agate Business Consulting (“we”, “our”, or “us”) handles information in connection with the UTM & QR Campaign Builder – Governance in a Click Chrome extension (“Extension”).
1. Information the Extension processes
The Extension may process the following information entered or generated by the user:
- Landing URLs entered by the user.
- UTM parameters such as
utm_source,utm_medium,utm_campaign,utm_term, andutm_content. - Campaign settings such as brand, objective, campaign month, selected template, and team preset.
- Optional custom URL parameters entered by the user.
- Extension configuration such as remote JSON config URL, QR fallback preference, and license key.
- Local usage metrics such as number of generated links, QR downloads, and template usage.
2. Local storage
The Extension uses Chrome local storage to save configuration, imported presets, draft form values, license key, QR fallback preference, and usage metrics. This allows the Extension to remember user settings and continue working between browser sessions.
3. Remote JSON configuration
The Extension may fetch remote JSON configuration files from Agate-controlled domains or another URL configured by the user. These JSON files may contain team presets, company information, support links, privacy policy links, terms links, and branding configuration.
These JSON files are used as data only. The Extension does not execute remote JavaScript or WebAssembly from these JSON files.
4. QR code generation and remote resources
The Extension can generate QR codes for the final campaign URL. If QR API fallback is enabled, the generated campaign URL may be sent to a QR image generation endpoint solely to render the QR code. Users may use local QR rendering where available to avoid remote QR requests.
If a valid license key is configured, the Extension may load a remote logo image from an Agate-controlled domain for placement in the center of the QR code. If no valid license key is configured, a default local logo may be used.
5. Clipboard access
The Extension uses clipboard write access only when the user clicks a copy button or enables auto-copy after generating a campaign URL. The Extension does not read from the clipboard.
6. Active tab and helper overlay
When the user explicitly clicks the helper overlay option, the Extension may access the active tab to inject a UTM helper panel into the current web page. This is used to build a UTM link from the current page URL. The Extension does not monitor browsing activity in the background.
7. Data sharing
We do not sell user data. We do not use Extension data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, or unrelated analytics.
Data may be sent externally only in limited cases required for Extension functionality, such as:
- Fetching remote JSON configuration or company information.
- Loading optional QR logo image assets.
- Rendering a QR code through a remote QR image service if fallback is enabled.
8. Data retention
Locally stored Extension data remains in the user’s browser until the user clears it, resets Extension data, or uninstalls the Extension.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical measures to limit Extension functionality to its declared purpose. Users should avoid entering confidential or sensitive information into campaign URLs or UTM fields.
10. Children’s privacy
The Extension is intended for business and marketing use and is not directed to children.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be made available through the Extension, Chrome Web Store listing, or our website.
